I like to start off with a solid sketch. I've made designs before straight on the computer or even combining pictures and creating vectors from that, but I don't like the final result. The sketching creates something... organic about the artwork.

The artwork has been inked here. I don't always do this step. The client wanted a grungy look though.

All cleaned up :)

Almost ended up with this design, but it feels unbalanced.

So the client requested this font and placement...
